Food

Italialainen ruoka kuuluu suosikkeihini, joten ei ihme, että tällä reissulla keskityimme lähinnä syömiseen ja ruoasta nauttimiseen mm. museoiden sijaan. Kaupungin parhaat pizzat löytyvät kuulemma Da Gherardosta (ravintola on todella pieni, eli suosittelen varaamaan pöydän etukäteen) ja Il Santo Bevitorea voin suositella illallispaikaksi (kannattaa myös tarkistaa naapurista löytyvä viinibaari).

Italian food is my favorite, so no wonder that’s what we focused on this trip. We decided to forget about museums and shopping (for most part) and just enjoy the best Italy can offer; the food. The best pizza in town can be found in Da Gherardo (do reserve a table, as the restaurant is super small) and I also loved Il Santo Bevitore (also check out the wine bar next door).

Shopping

Firenzessä on monta nahkatuotteisiin keskittyvää putiikkia ja ensi reissulla satsaan kunnon hanskoihin. Luksusmerkit ovat myös hyvin edustettuna, mutta samaiset löytyvät Pariisista, joten ne jäivät meiltä suosiolla välistä. The Mall:issa kävimme sunnuntaina ja sieltä tarttui mukaan jotain pientä.

Florence has many stores, which are focused on leather goods and next time I need to buy myself a pair of leather gloves. Most of the luxury brands are also well presented, but as they can be found in Paris, we decided to skip them. We did visit The Mall though and I found something small, which I’ll show you later.

Rooftop bars

Excelsior hotellin kattoterassi on kokemisen arvoinen, mutta oma suosikkini on Continental hotellin pieni katto lounge. Lisää siitä vielä myöhemmin!

The rooftop terrace of Excelsior hotel is definitely worth seeing, but my favorite is the small lounge on top of the Continental hotel. I’ll tell you more about it later on!

Garden

Boboli puutarha on yksi suosikeistani Firenzessä ja puisto on ehdottomasti näkemisen arvoinen. Sisäänpääsymaksu on alle 10€ ja sisälle saa viedä omat eväät, eli siellä voi viettää vaikka koko päivän. Näkymät ovat myös henkeäsalpaavan upeat!

Boboli Gardens is something you have to see when visiting Florence. It was my second time there and definitely not the last. It has to be one of the most impressive gardens I have ever seen and the views on top are breathtaking.

Apartement

Halldisin Boccaccio asunto. Me vuokrasimme tämän 70 neliön huoneiston kolmeksi yöksi ja hinta-laatusuhde on aivan loistava. Asunto sijaitsee aivan täydellisellä sijainnilla keskustassa, rakennus on upea ja asunto kauniisti sisustettu ja tilava. Voin lämmöllä suositella kyseistä huoneistoa, mutta kannattaa ottaa korvatulpat mukaan, nimittäin liikenteen äänet voivat haitata yöunia (ikkunat ovat todella huonosti eristetty, mutta se onkin sitten ainoa huono puoli tässä asunnossa).

The Boccaccio apartement through Halldis is definitely a great option if you want to stay in the center for a good price. The apartment is spacious, it’s nicely decorated and it’s in a beautiful building. The only down side is the noise, as the windows are not very well isolated. But other than that it’s a perfect spot if you want a genuine Florence experience.
